About Dubai Holding
Dubai Holding is a major government-owned investment group in Dubai, under the leadership of “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum”, with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum now overseeing the merged entities of Nakheel and Meydan into Dubai Holding since March 2024.
Over the years, Dubai Holding (and its subsidiaries: Nakheel, Meraas, Dubai Properties, Meydan) have delivered numerous landmark master-developments. For example, Nakheel built the iconic Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Islands,Palm Jabal Ali, Al Furjan, Discovery Gardens, The Gardens, among others. Meraas has created lifestyle-led, branded destinations like City Walk, Bluewaters Island, Port De La Mer, La Mer, which combine residential, retail, hospitality and entertainment.
On the offplan side, Dubai Holding is moving forward with projects like Nad Al Sheba Gardens and strategic mixed-use projects at Dubai Design District (d3) etc.
Their portfolio includes both branded projects (those with strong lifestyle / architectural identity, premium design, retail and hospitality tie-ups) and non-branded or community-focused master developments (large villa/townhouse/apartment communities built for wider markets). Dubai Holding Real Estate now manages over 15,000 hectares of master-planned communities, delivering more than 106,000 residential units / land plots and supporting roughly 740,000 people across its developments.
Looking ahead, Dubai Holding is emphasizing sustainable, integrated developments, more efficient infrastructure, and landmark future projects. Key future plans include further development of Palm Jebel Ali, expanding mixed-use masterplans, new urban districts, improved sustainability (e.g. district cooling in some locations), and more collaborations with private developers like Select Group.
